Mazda CX-5 Service & Repair Manual: Oil Pump Removal/Installation

Mazda CX-5 Service & Repair Manual / Engine / Lubrication / Oil Pump Removal/Installation

WARNING:

CAUTION:

NOTE:

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable..

2. Remove the plug hole plate..

3. Remove the ignition coil/ion sensors..

4. Remove the front under cover No.2..

5. Remove the splash shield..

6. Remove the drive belt..

7. Drain the engine oil..

8. Remove the oil pan..

9. Remove the engine front cover..

10. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

11. Install in the reverse order of removal.

12. Refill with the specified type and amount of the engine oil..

13. Start the engine and confirm that there is no oil leakage.

14. Inspect the oil level..

15. Inspect for the ignition timing and idle speed..

16. Inspect the oil pressure..

Oil Pump Driven Sprocket Removal Note

1. Temporarily assemble the crankshaft pulley lock bolt, and lock the oil pump against rotation as shown in the figure.


2. Remove the oil pump driven sprocket.

Oil Pump Installation Note

1. Install the oil pump using the following procedure:

a. Temporarily tighten the three bolts

shown in the figure.


b. Tighten the two bolts

shown in the figure to the specified torque.


NOTE:

c. Finally, tighten the bolt shown in the figure to the specified torque.


Oil Pump Driven Sprocket Installation Note

1. Temporarily assemble the crankshaft pulley lock bolt, and lock the oil pump against rotation as shown in the figure.


2. Install the oil pump driven sprocket.

3. Remove the temporarily assembled crankshaft pulley lock bolt.
